Two weeks ago, JPHigherEd announced the thirteen higher education professionals who will serve as JP Webinars’ facilitators. As the weeks progressed from July 18-August 01, each of the facilitators were highlighted by the company as a means to introduce them to the higher education community.
Today, we have the honor of covering the full-access launch of JPHigherEd.com, a company geared towards providing identity-conscious professional development opportunities for higher education professionals. Jamie Piperato, founder of JPHigherEd, encourages folks to visit their website at JPHigherEd.com. This site will provide professionals the access they need to (1) register for upcoming webinars; (2) listen to a social justice and inclusion podcast; (3) register for a free, online course; and (4) explore the option of becoming a JP Scholarship partner with JPHigherEd by working with them to create non-restricted funds for students and organizations.
JP Webinars is one of the many services provided by JPHigherEd. Higher education professionals can register for over thirty identity-conscious webinars starting on August 01, 2016. JP Webinars funds JP Scholarships, a service provided by JPHigherEd that creates non-restricted funds for non-profit organizations and higher education scholarships for students. A list of the JP Scholarship partners will be provided at the end of the month.
“I am honored and thrilled to be part of JP Webinars and the launch of JPHigherEd.com! JP Webinars is a prime example of innovation and ingenuity that will change the face of higher education as we know it today. Jamie Piperato has brought together a diverse collective of professionals in our field. I hope you will join us as we share resources, strategies, and build community to enhance our profession together,” states Saby Labor, a JP Webinars’ facilitator.
Dar Mayweather, a JP Webinars’ facilitator provides insight on his role with JPHigherEd, “As a Certified Social Justice Educator, I am super excited to be involved with JP Webinars! In relation to each topic, our goal is to meet participants where they are. With your participation, JP webinars can be a premiere space to engage hard topics in a healthy space. JP Webinars is creating space for people who want to learn and teach how to live, work, and lead across difference. When this opportunity came up, I couldn’t wait to get involved and I hope you are as eager to get involved as we are!”
